Why Order Matters: Epistemic History and the Illusion of Necessity in Commutative Update
A manuscript arguing that Public Announcement Logic's commutative update encodes a substantive philosophical assumption: that epistemic justification is independent of the order in which information is acquired. I introduce a trace-augmented semantics with a memory operator to show when that assumption fails.
